Drug Suspect Arrested in Labuan

Intel operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 10 conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Barangay Labuan, Zamboanga City at about 12:00 PM of March 1, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Rasset Jalil y Abundol, 24 years old, male, married, fish vendor, high school undergraduate and a resident of Purok-3 Labuan, Zamboanga City. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for Violation of Section 15 article II of RA 9165 with Criminal Case No. 32985 issued by Hon. Peter V. Eisma Presiding Judge, Branch 15 Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region Zamboanga City with recommended bail bond of ₱ 10,000.00. He is now presently under the custody of the said police station for proper disposition.

Man Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Kasanyangan

Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 6 conducted drug buy-bust operation at Phase 4, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at 3:30 PM of March 1, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Mohammad Timpahan y Kuhutan, 36 years old, married, college undergraduate, unemployed, and a resident of the said place. Recovered during the operation were Nine (9) sachets of suspected Shabu with estimated value of ₱ 4,200.00 weighing 0.61 grams and two (2) bills of ₱ 100.00 as marked money. Confiscated items were brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination while the suspect is presently under the custody of the said police station for proper disposition.

Drowning Incident

A drowning incident transpired at Sitio Barlac, Barangay Cabaluay, Zamboanga City at 5:30 PM of March 01, 2021 wherein victim identified as Fernando N. Quijano, 44 years old, married and a resident of Barangay Lanzones, Zamboanga City. He was seen floating along the sea of the said place. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim went out to find some seashells and crustaceans. He thought that the water was still shallow but when he stepped on the deep canals, He fell and was not able to swim back. According to the brother of the victim Luciano Narca Angeles, 57 years old, married of Barangay Lanzones revealed that Fernando had a mental disability. Further, the victim’s cadaver was brought to Villa Funeral Homes for post mortem examination and funeral services.

Laborer Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Recodo

Police personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 9 conducted anti-illegal drugs operation at Darussalam, Purok 4, Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City at 10:30 PM of March 1, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Jeffrey Villalon Y Fulquirinas, 38 years old, male, single, fishing boat laborer, high school undergraduate, and a resident of Arcillas, Purok 7, Barangay Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City. Recovered from his possession were thirteen (13) heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 6, 800.00 weighing more or less 1 gram, one (1) pouch and two (2) pieces of ₱ 100.00 bill as marked money. He is now under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 9 in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.

Stabbing Incident

A stabbing incident transpired at MCLL Highway, Barangay Curuan, Zamboanga City at about 11:00PM of March 1, 2021 fronting Phoenix Gasoline Station wherein victim was identified as Michael Magunda Y Gumpit, 35 years old, male single, driver and a resident of R.T. Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay while suspects were two (2) unidentified male person. Investigation revealed that prior to the incident, the victim parked his vehicle on the side of the road fronting Phoenix Gasoline Station purposely to take a rest after a long travel together with his two (2) female companions. While sleeping on the driver’s seat, two (2) unidentified male person stealthily approached the victim and promptly stabbed him on his chest using a knife. The victim sustained stabbed wound on his upper chest with the knife was still impaled in him. He was immediately brought to Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital for treatment. The suspects fled towards Barangay Latuan after the incident. A hot pursuit operation is presently being conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 2 to determine the motive and for the identification and arrest of suspects.

Hacking Incident

A hacking incident transpired at Purok-7 Barangay Calolot, Tambulig, Zamboanga Del Sur at 8:30 PM of March 1, 2021 wherein the victim was identified as Renante Poyot Rivera, 42 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 3 of the said barangay. He was hacked by the suspect identified as Diosdado Sarite Zacarias, 52 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 2 of the said area. Investigation revealed that the suspect used a scythe in the commission of the crime. The victim sustained hacked wounds in his lower left chest and limbs. He was immediately brought to Happy Valley Community Hospital and later referred to Mhars General Hospital, Ozamis City. Motive of the incident is believed to be personal grudge. The suspect voluntarily surrendered to Tambulig Municipal Police Station and the investigator on case is now preparing for filing of criminal complaint at Prosecutor’s Office.

Police Officer Dead in a Vehicular Accident

A vehicular accident transpired at National Road, Barangay Pangi, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 8:50 AM of march 1, 2021 involving a white 10 wheeler Isuzu truck, with plate number RBW 160, driven by Dino Nemaria Canalija; 26 years old, male, single, a resident of Purok Nuevo, Barangay Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay and a black Honda Click, with plate number due for registration driven by Pcpl Dios Rean Tinay Lozano, police personnel assigned at Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd provincial Mobile Force Company, 29 years old, male, married, and a resident of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay. Initial investigation disclosed that the truck and the motorcycle were travelling on same direction from Barangay Poblacion going to Barangay Pangi, upon reaching the place of incident, the Honda Click bumped a motorcycle ahead of it, as a result, the driver of Honda Click was thrown to the ground due to the impact and was run-over by the truck. Pcpl. Lozano was declared dead on the spot by the responding emergency medical team of LDRRMO Ipil while the driver of truck was unharmed and subsequently surrendered to Ipil Municipal Police Station while both vehicles are under the custody of said police station for proper disposition. The cadaver was brought to Villa Babas funeral home.

Homicide Suspect Arrested in Titay

Joint elements of Titay Municipal Police Station (MPS) together Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office – Intel Branch and 903rd Manuever Company conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Purok Greenfield, Barangay Mabini, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay at 6:05 PM of march 1, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Rico Nonong Domdoman 38 years old, single and a resident of Barangay Azusano, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay the arrest was made by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Frustrated Homicide, docketed under criminal case no. i-8241, issued by Hon Joel G. Vercide, Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 37, 9th Judicial Region, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, issued on February 17, 2021 with ₱ 72, 000.00 bail recommended. The suspect was apprised of his constitutional rights under Miranda doctrine and now under the custody of Titay MPS for proper disposition and documentation prior to his turn-over to court concerned.

Alleged Suicide Incident

An alleged suicide incident transpired at Purok Banaba, Barangay Veterans Village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, at 3:30 PM of march 1, 2021 wherein Jerome Marason Antugon, 27 years old, male, married, construction worker, a resident of Barangay Gibo, Siayan, Zamboanga Del Norte was found lifeless. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim asked permission from the timekeeper on their workplace to take a rest due to severe headache and immediately went alone to their barracks. The victim’s brother Nonoy Marason Antugon arrived at their barracks and tried to open the door but it was locked. He went at the back of the barracks to enter the room and saw the victim lying down already covered with blood due to lacerated wounds in his neck and chest. The victim was immediately rushed to Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. One (1) swiss knife covered with blood was found near the body of the victim.
