Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Zamboanga City – Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9) ordered an adminisitrative sanction of a police trainee after he was arrested by PNP personnel of Dipolog City Police Station for allegedly mauling his 16-year old girlfriend in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte on July 22, 2020.
PBGEN. JESUS D CAMBAY, JR., Regional Director, PRO9 identified the police trainee as Joed C. Carba, who is currently undergoing OJT/FTX at Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office.
The police trainee’s arrest came after his girlfriend lodged a complaint to the WCPD of Dipolog City Police Station for physical abuse in relation to RA 9262, following a mauling incident perpetuated by the subject at the victim’s apartment in Barangay Miputak, Dipolog City at about 10:00 PM of July 22, 2020. Acting on the report, elements of said police station conducted follow-up operation that led to the arrest of the subject. He is presently detained at Dipolog City Police Station detention cell while an appropriate charge of physical abuse in relation of RA 9262 is now being prepared by the WCPD investigator against him.
PBGEN CAMBAY, JR directed PLTCOL ANTONIO T DURUIN, Training Manager of the Regional Special Training Unit 9 to immediately terminate the OJT/FTX training of the said police trainee and subject him for termination procedure under the PNP training manual.
Police professionalism is one among the program thrust of the Regional Director, wherein strict imposition of discipline among the officers and ranks is a priority. Police Regional Office 9 condemns any act enimical to public service which tends to degrade the prestige of the PNP organization.
