Grenade Throwing Incident
Explosion incident transpired at Purok 2, Brgy Compostela, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay at 10:45 PM of January 10, 2021. The victim was identified as Elizabeth Tanio Paug, 57 years old, married, housewife and a resident of the aforesaid place. The suspect was identified as Danilo Titican, male, legal age, married and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy Lantawan, Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay and one unidentified malefactor. Investigation revealed that during said time, the victim was inside of her house when she noticed a noise coming from the window beside her room. When she checked the noise, she saw Danilo Titican together with one unidentified person removing the window glass blade. Thereafter, Danilo Titican throws something at the said room which later discovered as hand grenade and followed by a loud explosion. After the incident the suspects fled towards unknown direction. No injury was reported during the incident. Motive of the incident is believed to be land dispute. Buug Municipal Police Station conducted follow up operation to arrest the identified suspect.
Road Crash Accident
Road crash accident occurred at Purok 4, Barangay Bobongan, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur 11:30 AM of January 10, 2021 wherein the vehicles involved were described as: Vehicle 1 – One unit Fuso Aluminum Wing Van Truck, color yellow, driven by Roldan Amper Baltazar, 43 years old, male, married, of Zone 7, Brgy. Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental together with his truck man named Diocol Zarati Ardines, 27 years old male, single, of Brgy. San Louise, Malitbog, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental; Vehicle 2 – One unit Isuzu Elf, with registration plate no. ACT 5531, driven by Arnold Arias, 38 years old, male, together his passengers identified as: Edgar Arias (Deceased), 51 years old, male, married; Junjie Alolor, 17 years old, Jasmine Lubaton Arias, 6 years old, Jemboy Catulong Gabayan, 28 years old, male, Julia Marie Lubaton Arias, 16 years old, Bernadeth Labadero Arias, 50 years old, female. Investigation disclosed that V1 was traversing from National Highway of Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur bound to Cagayan de Oro City, while V2 was traversing from National Highway of Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. Campo IV, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur, both running in opposite direction. Upon reaching at the curve lane of National Highway, Purok 4, Barangay Bobongan, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur, the V2 tried to overtook the SUV not sensing the presence of the incoming V1, and thereby accidentally bumped on head on collision. As a result, the driver of V2 sustained serious injury, while five passengers of same vehicle sustained injuries in the different parts of their bodies and were brought to Blancia Hospital and Igano Hospital Molave, Zamboanga del Sur for medical treatment, but one of said passengers identified as Edgar Arias, 51 years old, male, married, and a resident of Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. Campo IV, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. The V1 to include its truck man were not injured and now under the custody of Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Vehicular Traffic Incident
Vehicular traffic incident transpired along the National Highway of Barangay New Tambo, Katipunan, Zamboanga Del Norte at 7:05 AM of January 10, 2021. Upon arrival at the scene, The responding team successfully identify the two vehicles involved, to wit: Vehicle1 described as one Mitsubishi Canter Dropside, Bearing plate Number JAE3593, driven by Arnel Español Jarantilla, 39 years old, married, elementary graduate, Vehicle2 described as one TVS NEO NX, without plate number, driven by Geralvin Aljas Saldasal, 16 years old, with his back rider named Gina Aljas Saldasal, 40 Years Old, of Barangay Mias, Katipunan, Zamboanga Del Norte. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the Vehicle1 stopped along the National Highway of Barangay New Tambo, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte due to sudden malfunction of the clutch lining. At around 7:00 AM of same date while the driver is going to fix the trouble, Vehicle2 bumped the right side rear portion of Vehicle1 causing the driver and the back rider fell in to the pavement. Further, it was disclosed that due to the rain, the driver and the back rider of Vehicle2 were using umbrella while travelling causing the driver to have difficulties in observing the highway. The driver of Vehicle2 unable to install early warning device during the breakdown of his driven vehicle. The driver and back rider of Vehicle2 were immediately brought to Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center, dipolog Ciy but declared dead on arrival by Dr. Mark Anthony Mariñas-MD, DPDS- Duty Physician. The driver of Vehicle1 is now temporarily detained to Katipunan MPS for charges and the vehicles involved were impounded for proper disposition.
Stabbing Incident
Stabbing incident transpired at Purok 1, Brgy Calabasa, Zamboanga City at 8:40 PM of January 10, 2021. The victim was identified as Randy Gantalao Milano, 28 years old, single of Purok 1, Brgy Calabasa, Zamboanga City and the suspect identified as Fernando De Leon of legal age, married and a resident of Birada Calabasa, Buenavista Zamboanga City. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident that the suspect went to the victim’s house purposely to bring meal for his step father Rocendo Palay Orbanos, while thereat victim and suspect had a heated argument regarding on their old grudge wherein the victim punched the suspect not knowing that he was carrying a knife with him, Fernando immediately pulled his knife and stabbed the victim trice that resulted to his death. After the incident, suspect fled away towards the dark area of said barangay. Zamboanga City Police Station 2 is still conducting follow up for the arrest of suspect.
Fire Incident
Fire incident transpired at Porcentro, Barangay Guiwan, Zamboanga City at 11:00 AM of January 10, 2021, wherein the house owned by Rudy Garcia y Pangilinan was burned. Bureau of Fire Protection responded at the area and declared fire out at 11:15 AM of same date. Investigation disclosed that the third floor of the house made of semi-concrete materials was burned and according to Mr. Rudy his wife Mrs. Margareth Garcia y Navato was the last person who used the treadmill and forgot to unplug the said treadmill that caused the fire. The investigator of Bureau of Fire Protection declared that it was due to faulty electrical wiring and the estimated value of the damage is P200,000.00 pesos. No reported injured during the incident.
4 Arrested in Zamboanga City Anti- Illegal Gambling Operation
Operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 7 led by Police Captain Albin T Cabayacruz conducted Illegal Gambling Operation at Caridad Murga Urban Poor, Tumaga, Zamboanga City at 3:30 PM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Lucio Pilayo y Ansay, 45 years old, male, single of Estrada Street Tetuan, Zamboanga City, Ryan Sardan y Lim, 30 years old, male, single of Araneta drive Tumaga, Zamboanga City, Jomar Alvarez y Jacinto, 42 years old, male, married of Araneta drive Tumaga, Zamboanga City and Gulieto Mercader y Lauron, 40 years old, male, married of Estrada Street Tetuan, Zamboanga City. Confiscated during the operation were Two (2)-Fighting cocks, Six (6) pieces of One Hundred pesos bill and two and two (2)- gaffs. Subjects are presently under the custody of said police station for proper disposition.
13 Nabbed in Zamboanga City for Illegal Gambling
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted operation against illegal gambling at Baliwasan Grande, Vali Xanado Subdivision, Zamboanga City at 3:00 PM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted to the apprehension of thirteen (13) male persons identified as Erwin Taleon y Palmes, 50 years old, Moreno Zuasula y Dagumbal, 59 years old, Eduardo Patiño y Perez, 61 years old, Melchor Itang y Samora, 67 years old, Reynaldo Aguilar y Lakaya, 53 years old, Feliciano Pales y Tubilio, 44 years old, Roland Edollantes y Purgatorio, 43 years old, Rosellier Mondejar y Abante, 38 years old, Jamie Empas y Armero 66 years old, male, Arnold Alonzo y Bernardo 46 years old, Roberto Garcia y Malinao 36 years old, male, Rogelio Paras y Ignacio, 26 years old, and Yvan Ross Baylon y Taray, 27 years old, all of Barangay Pasonanca, Zamboanga City, who were caught in the act playing illegal cock fighting. While conducting body search to the apprehended persons, recovered from Yvan-Ross Baylon y Taray One (1) coin purse containing one (1) sachet of suspected shabu with estimated DDB value of 2,500.00 weighing 0.36 grams. Confiscated also Four (4) fighting cocks, and bet money amounting to 3,420.00 pesos. Confiscated suspected shabu will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Lab Office for examination while subjects are presently under the custody of said police station for proper disposition.
Fisherman Caught in Tabina for the Crime of Homicide
Police personnel of Tabina Municipal Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Zotico E Calago Jr. and CIDG conducted law enforcement operation against wanted person at Purok Baliti, Barangay Baganian, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur at 6:30 PM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Danilo Daciado Tagoctoc, 48 years old, male, married, fisherman, and a resident of Purok Baliti, Barangay Baganian, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur by virtue of Arrest Warrant for the Crime of Homicide, docketed under Criminal Case Number 15331-2K20 dated December 18, 2020 issued by Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 18, Pagadian City with recommended bail bond fixed at Php 40,000.00. He is now temporarily detained at Tabina Municipal Police Station custodial facility while waiting for commitment order from the court.
14 Wanted Persons Captured in Tukuran for Homicide Charges
Police personnel of Tukuran Municipal Police Station led by Police Captain Jubail S Grar conducted law enforcement operation against wanted persons at NDC Compound, Purok Kammanggahan, Brgy. Curvada, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur at 11:00 AM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of fourteen wanted persons identified as Jacjlouven Rivera Guzman, 31 years old, Rodrigo Jemirino Cabasag Sr., 51 years old, Joe Agusto Eyas, 29 years old, Ulysses Quimno Maglangit, 45 years old, Ruel Quiroga Cabarles, 49 years old, Mark Anthony Mirabueno Fiel, 36 years old, Jimmy Lomonggo Lumosad, 58 years old, Marlon Ybio Elma, 30 years old, Nazer Catid Baribo 35 years old, Junipher Gier Omatang, 40 years old, Jezrel Merafuentes Baguio, 36 years old, Jonilo Esteban Duhilag, 33 years old, Felipe Bacsarpa Ferolino, 56 years old, married, fisherman, and a resident of Brgy. Panduma Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur; and George Rojas Enangkile Jr. 32 years old, all fisherman by occupation. They were arrested by virtue of Arrest Warrant for the Crime of Homicide, docketed under Criminal Case Number 15331-2k20 issued by Assistant City Prosecutor, 9th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 18, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur with recommended bail bond fixed at Php40,000.00 each. They were now temporarily detained at Tukuran Municipal Police Station custodial facility while waiting for commitment order from the court.
3 Arrested in Roxas in Anti- Illegal Gambling Operation
Police personnel of Roxas Municipal Police Station and 1st Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted joint illegal gambling operation at Sitio Bolon, Brgy Lower Irasan, Roxas, Zamboanga del Norte at 2:30 PM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of three (3) violators, namely: Wilfredo L. Malinao, 48 years old, married, Laborer, 4Ps member and a resident of Tanayan, Roxas, Artemio P. Cubillo, 57 years old, married, Farmer, 4Ps member and a resident of Langatian, Roxas and Raymond O. Ledeno, 23 years old, farmer, and a resident of Tanayan, Roxas, after being caught in the act involved in illegal cockfighting activity while other suspects managed to escape from the operating team. Confiscated Items during the said operations were Two pcs cockfighting gaffs, Two pcs fighting cocks and bet money amounting to P1,070.00 in different denominations.
Driver Arrested in Godod for Attempted Murder
Police personnel of Godod Municipal Police Station, Baliguian Municipal Police Station and 905th Company of RMFB9 conducted joint Intel driven operation thru service of warrant at Mamawan, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte at 7:45 PM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Wilfredo Pingkian Tagapan, 37years old, Male, married, Driver, and a resident of Purok 5, Godod, Zamboanga del Norte. He was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for Attempted Murder docketed under criminal case number Criminal Case No. L-003977 issued by Acting Presiding Judge Anthony DT Isaw of RTC, 9th Judicial Region Branch 28 Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte dated July 17, 2020 with bail bond recommended fixed at P120,000.00. The arrested person is now under the custody of Godod MPS for proper disposition.
P20,000.00 Shabu Yield from Driver in Siocon Anti-illegal Drugs Operation
Drug enforcement team of Siocon Municipal Police Station led by PMAJ Edison F Alviar implemented the Search Warrant no.2021-01 issued by Judge of 4th MCTC of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, 9th Judicial Region dated January 7, 2021 at Brgy S. Arabi, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Norte at 10:30 PM of January 10, 2021. The operation resulted to the successful arrest of Ben Alibbon Jakarain, 49 years old, male, married, driver, resident of abovementioned place. He was arrested for violation of R.A. 9165 and R.A 10591. Confiscated during the said operation were Six pcs medium heat transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules believed to be shabu with estimated street value of P20,000.00 and estimated weight of 5 grams; One pc large plastic empty sachet and other drug paraphernalia. Confiscated also were One unit Armscor Cal .45 pistol with serial no. 317008; One pc steel magazine for caliber .45 pistol; and Four pcs live ammunition for Cal .45 pistol. Confiscated items will be brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for Chemical Examination and the suspect is now under the custody of Siocon Municipal Police Station.
