PhilHealth IX Paid More Than ₱2M To Different Hospitals In Zamboanga City For Covid-19

The Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) paid a total of ₱ 2,965,806.00 to different hospitals in Zamboanga City for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) package.

Dr. Jacobo Maria Mendoza, Head, PhilHealth benefits administration section told RPN DXXX Zamboanga, a total of ten patients availed. One health care worker while the other nine are none health care workers.

For the non health care workers, the PhilHealth paid hospitals a total of ₱ 1,798,547.00 while for the health care worker, ₱ 1,167,259.00.

For the health care worker, he or she was admitted after April 15. For the non health care workers, admitted April 15, 2020 data as of June 30, 2020.

He explained, they paid more for the health care worker because they paid everything in the hospital bill.

Majority was paid to Zamboanga City Medical Center being the Covid 19 referral facility in region 9.

Mendoza said, the Covid package covers those probable and confirmed Covid 19 cases.

PhilHealth paid ₱ 43,000 for mild Covid case, ₱ 143,000 moderate, ₱ 300,000 severe, and for critical ₱ 700,000.

He assured, they conducted the necessary pre-medical audit to make sure that the office is spending for Covid cases.

This package can be availed by everyone due to the Universal Health Care Law. The first step is register with the office. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
