The Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) paid more than ₱ 142 million to different hospitals in Zamboanga City for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) package.
Michael Jones S. Lahi, OIC Public Affairs Unit, PhilHealth IX said, for 2020 in Zamboanga City, they paid 216 claims amounting to ₱ 40,099,383.11.
For this year from January to May 5, 2021 they already paid 369 claims amounting to ₱ 102,987,997.97.
All of these claims were paid to the different hospitals in Zamboanga City.
Lahi explained, there are four types of Covid-19 package the mild pneumonia, moderate, severe, and critical.
For the mild pneumonia the office is paying ₱ 43,997, for moderate pneumonia ₱ 143,267, for severe pneumonia ₱ 333,519, and for critical pneumonia ₱ 786,384.
Covid package also includes doctors fee, medicines, and laboratory fees.
These patients must be admitted at a level one, two, or three hospital at a Covid ward or private room. For the severe and critical pneumonia, patients are intubated.
The doctors are giving the diagnosis to know what package will be used.
To make sure there is no fraudulent claims doctors from PhilHealth will also review the claims.
To avail of the package, the patient must be Covid positive, admitted in the hospital, members data record, and they must be in good standing. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
