The Technical Working Group of the Regional Screening Committee for the 2024 Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) embarked on a three-day site visit and validation from September 25 to 27.
Three nominees from both the Individual (Adult) and Organization categories were interviewed and validated. The regional winners will compete at the national level.
Last year, the Zamboanga Peninsula region shone as Dr. Zaida K. Sadain-Urao received the Most Outstanding Volunteer Award in the Individual (Adult) category for conducting over 70 medical missions for the urban poor, Indigenous Peoples, and Muslim communities in Zamboanga City, while Dr. Anton Mari H. Lim was honored with the Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award for his over 25 years of volunteer service.
