Over 4,000 barangay health and nutrition workers from across Zamboanga del Sur received ₱5,000 cash benefits each from the provincial government last Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The gesture, timed with the province’s 72nd founding anniversary celebration, was a way of expressing gratitude for their dedication to serving the Zambosurians.
Governor Victor J. Yu, along with Cong. Victoria YU, Cong. Divina Grace C. Yu and other local and Department of Health (DOH) regional officials, led the distribution of the cash assistance.
In his speech, Governor Yu emphasized the importance of recognizing the hard work and sacrifices of these frontliners, calling the benefits an “early Christmas gift.”
This initiative highlights the provincial government’s commitment to supporting and appreciating the vital role of health workers in ensuring the well-being of Zambosurians.
