The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Ramon Magsaysay, in collaboration with the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tukuran, facilitated a DENR Services on Wheels: One-Stop Shop at the Municipal Gymnasium of Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur on October 3.
The initiative aims to ensure that citizens have access to essential environmental services while promoting public engagement and education under the DENR Services on Wheels scheme.
Services provided included Agricultural and Residential Free Patent Application, Special Patent Application, Foreshore Lease, Wildlife Transport Permit and Chainsaw Registration, Legal Consultation, and Certificate of Non-Coverage (CNC) and Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) Application from EMB. The team also distributed 400 indigenous seedlings of Lumbayao, Balok-balok, Bayog, and Narra.
Fifty-eight clients from various barangays in Tukuran availed of the services offered. The office also distributed umbrellas through a raffle draw, where some participants received umbrellas as special prizes.
CENR Officer Dionision Rago emphasized that the collaboration between DENR and LGUs can establish a strong foundation for implementing environmental services and programs that address local and national sustainability concerns.
The department hopes that this endeavor will enhance service delivery and strengthen ties between the participating parties.
