MORE than P2 million worth of fully grown marijuana plants and marijuana stalks were uprooted and destroyed within the boundary of Brgy Betwagan, Sadanga, Mt Province and Brgy Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga on February 19.
The MJ plantation was reported by a concerned citizen and upon validation of the reported plantation, combined personnel of the Mountain Province PPO, Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, Sadanga MPS, Regional Intelligence Division, PRO-Cordillera and PDEA Mountain Province, Benguet and MIMAROPA4-B was immediately organized for the MJ eradication.
The anti-narcotics operatives discovered more or less 6,000 fully grown Marijuana plants with DDB value of Php1,200,000 and Marijuana stalks weighing more or less eight kilograms with DDB value of Php960,000 with a total DDB value of Php2,160,000 planted in an estimated land area of more or less 1000sq.m were burned and destroyed on-site. The personnel of PDEA took sample for examination and evidentiary purposes.
No cultivator was arrested during the operation.
The successful Marijuana Eradication was due to the positive response and full support of the community and aggressive efforts of government forces on the campaign against illegal drugs. PCOL CLARENCE C. CASILIO, Provincial Director Directed all unit commanders of Mountain Province to be more vigilant in monitoring any presence of illegal drugs in our Area of Responsibility for immediate action.
