Only 3 percent of the over 4 million people who received Covid-19 vaccines had reported an adverse event.

In an online press briefing on Tuesday, Lulu Bravo, a member of the government’s Adverse Effects Following Immunization (AEFI) committee, said this the report they got since the government started its vaccination drive last March.

She, however, noted incidents of adverse events may be underreported.

About to 30 to 40 percent of the participants of vaccine clinical trials have reported similar “reactions.”

These include minor health conditions such as fevers, chills and high blood pressure.

The executive director of the Philippine Foundation for Vaccination said they are wary that some of the vaccine recipients may suffer blood clots as in other countries, but she noted this is a “one-in-a-million” chance.

She advised those who will feel ill after getting their Covid-19 shots to immediately seek medical help.

“This [blood coagulation caused by the vaccine] could be treated if immediately reported,” Bravo said.

As of June 7, 2021, the government was able to administer 6 million Covid-19 doses, of which, 4.4 million were first doses and 1.6 million were second doses.
