Davao City:     Through the collaborative efforts of 27th Infantry “Action” Battalion, 89th Infantry “Makatao” Battalion and 1003rd “RAPTOR” Brigade led by BGEN Nolasco A. Mempin PA and LTC. Victorino M. SEÑO INF (GSC) PA, captured NPA couple, Sara Yamit Sausa @Sara and Jose Sausa @Totoy both members of GF55, 5SRC, SMRC finally reunites with their children after two (2) years of being away from each other.

The children accompanied by their grandmother and uncle were fetched by soldiers all the way from San Fernando, Bukidnon.

The movie-like reunion has pour tears of joy not only to the Sausa family but also to the soldiers who witnessed the event inside the Headquarters of 27th Infantry “Action” Battalion in Brgy. Dalisay, Panabo City.

The NPA couple has no idea about the efforts of the soldiers inviting their children to include the mother and brother of @SARA to surprise them.

According to their daughter Mary Rose (14), the eldest among the four (4) siblings, they really missed their parents and they are all excited to see them. The very moment the couple came closer to meet their children, tears shed on their faces as they hug each other tightly seeming it is a just a dream.

Indeed, there is no greater happiness than seeing and warmly hugging your family. For two (2) years, the kids who live with their grandmother were deprived of parent’s love and care because of the NPA terrorist’s deceptive propaganda in recruiting innocent civilians.

While the NPA terrorist breaks family to advance their dead ideology, the government and military continuously exert efforts to reach out and lend a hand in bringing them together.

Sara and Jose express their gratitude for bringing their children, mother and brother to see them. It is an early Christmas gift for them, she added. With heartfelt appreciation and delighted by somewhat a granted wish, Sara calls the attention of other NPA members and said “Baba namo, ayaw na pagduha duha, baba na ta. Motabang ta dire sa goberyno kay sa gituohan ang goberyno dili motabang, motabang gyud diay. Ang kulang ra sa atoa, moduol ug mo cooperate ingon ana atong buhaton.”

The couple was captured during the encounter at Brgy. Saloy, Calinan District, Davao City last September. The duo who was wounded during the encounter was evacuated by soldiers to military and civilian hospital for appropriate medical attention.

They have undergone successful medical operation and now in stable condition and recuperating.
