Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – As part of the PNP’s intensified internal cleansing efforts; Police Regional Office Cordillera through the Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) conducted random drug tests to its personnel to weed out drug users among its ranks.
For this year, of the 4,279 personnel who were randomly tested, 4,225 were uniformed personnel while 54 are non-uniformed personnel. On the other hand, 681 personnel of station, provincial, city and regional Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) were mandatory tested.
Drug test were conducted with the following breakdown: Regional Headquarters – 892; Abra PPO – 718; Apayao PPO – 241; Benguet PPO – 275; Ifugao PPO – 692; Kalinga PPO – 541; Mountain Province PPO – 303 and Baguio City Police Office – 617.
According to RCLO data, the result of drug test conducted to PROCOR personnel turned out negative for the presence of illegal drugs.
Aside from the regular random drug testing, personnel vying for promotion and schooling were being subjected to drug test. Personnel who will be tested positive on drug test will be immediately filed with admin cases and subjected to summary dismissal procedures. (PROCOR PIO)
