Bacolod City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson asked the local chief executive of the city and municipal mayors to submit their masterlist of recipients of Pfizer BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccines.
Lacson issued a memorandum Monday informing all local chief executives that the rollout of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccines will be from June 28 to July 2, with Negrenses in the A1 to A3 priority categories as recipients.
A1 to A3 groups include medical frontliners, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.
Lacson required city and municipal mayors to submit the master lists to opcen.negros2021@gmail.com before 5 p.m. of June 24.
The governor also reminded LCEs that there will only be two sites for the Pfizer vaccination rollout in Negros Occidental – the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay and at Negros Residences in Bacolod City. The LGUs should choose the schedule and site of vaccination for their recipients.
Earlier, Negros Occidental received 1,950 vials of Pfizer BioNTech vaccine from the Department of Health.
Each vial of Pfizer, a new brand of vaccine dispatched to Negros Occidental, is equivalent to six doses, or 11,700 doses in total.
Lacson said that the city or municipality shall be responsible for the transport of their constituents to the vaccination site during their scheduled inoculation, and walk-ins will not be allowed.
Vaccinees are required to bring the vaccination cards issued by their LGUs.
They are also advised to be at the vaccination site one hour before their scheduled shots, to avoid delays and ensure vaccine integrity, he added. (Dolly Yasa via The Daily Guardian (TDG), photo courtesy of TDG)
