Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the Provincial Government Economic Enterprise Development Department is mandated to maximize the economic potentials of the province.
Lacson made the statement during a seminar-workshop aimed at defining the new normal operating practices, health protocols, and policies for the Provincial Government’s Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD) held recently.

Lacson said this can be done through proper and better utilization, administration, management and control of its resources, thus, the need to promote business integrity in the province’s managed economic enterprises should be cultivated.

“Let us make it our call to maximize the potentials of the province’s enterprises, for it is our duty to make sure that these will not only be profitable but also beneficial to the people of Negros Occidental,” said the governor.

He added that with the success of the enterprises comes the possibility of having more enterprises to support and fund more development programs for the province.

The participants, who were all EEDD personnel, were trained on how to operate business and conduct public transactions under the new normal set by the Department of Tourism.

Cristine Mansinares of the Department of Tourism-Region VI, who is also the province’s former tourism office head, spearheaded the workshop.

At present, the provincial government manages three enterprises such as the Negros Residences and Food Terminal Market in Bacolod City, and Mambukal Resort in the Municipality of Murcia; all supervised by the EEDD headed by Dr. Lucille Gelvolea. (Dolly yasa via tdg, photo by tdg)
