Davao City – The Davao City Covid-19 Task Force has extended the lockdown of the Sangguniang Panlungsod lockdown up to June 13, 2021, after 44 employees text positive of the Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease.
Dr. Michelle Schlosser, Focal Person of the City Covid-19 Task Force, announced on Thursday after receiving a recommendation of the City Health Office (CHO) to place the building on lockdown due to the number of positive cases among the employees from various offices at the SP Building. The building was initially placed on a seven-day lockdown for surveillance swabbing.
“We have 44 [positive cases] when we had the mass swabbing at SP. Medyo marami kasi yan for us not to extend the lockdown of the establishment (That is a lot for us not to extend the lockdown of the establishment),” said Schlosser.
CHO Acting Head Dr. Ashley Lopez earlier said that most of the positive cases came from the city government offices at the SP Building, particularly from the City Assessor’s Office, City Treasurer’s Office, and the City Civil Registrar’s Office.
The offices affected by the lockdown are the City Treasurer’s Office, City Assessor’s Office, City Civil Registrar’s Office, Business Bureau, Vice Mayor’s Office, and City Councilors’ Offices.
While the SP Building is in lockdown, all services of the offices at SP are being done at their district offices.
