Law Enforcers Destroy Marijuana Planting Sites In Sagada

Anti-drugs forces destroyed on Sunday fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated market value of P92, 000 discovered in two sites in the municipality of Sagada, Mt. Province.

The joint anti-illegal drugs operation of the PNP, PDEA and AFP conducted a joint Marijuana Eradication operation at Fidelizan, Sagada, Mountain Province on May 24, 2020.

The operation led to the discovery and successful destruction of two (2) Marijuana plantation sites located in communal lands with a total land area of sixty (60) square meters. The operatives uprooted and burned on site two hundred thirty (230) pieces Fully Grown Marijuana.

Marijuana samples were taken by the operatives to be submitted at the Mountain Province Police Provincial Crime Laboratory for examination.

The municipal LGU and the barangay officials of Fidelisan expressed their commitment and support for the drug war and have agreed to help find, identify and convince whoever the cultivator to surrender to the authorities.

Cultivation of Marijuana is punishable by life imprisonment under RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
