Iriga: UP Tourism Students Explore Albay’s Best Practices

    A total of 60 students from the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism joined a benchmarking and immersion activity in Albay on May 7 to gain firsthand exposure to the province’s tourism programs and destination management initiatives.

    The activity was hosted by the Provincial Government of Albay through the Provincial Tourism, Culture and Arts Office at the Old SPA Session Hall.

    The immersion aimed to strengthen tourism education and academic collaboration through practical learning experiences.

    The activity was led by Dr. Gina Alcoriza of the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism.

    Provincial Tourism Officer Dorothy F. Colle opened the program with an orientation on Albay’s tourism profile, heritage, and development initiatives.

    Students were introduced to local tourism practices and strategies being implemented to promote sustainable tourism development in the province.
