Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City – In response to the nationwide transport strike initiated by some Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ) drivers, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5), under the leadership of PBGEN ANDRE P. DIZON, is launching its “Libreng Sakay” initiative to assist commuters who may be affected by the disruption in transportation services.

A total of 14 police vehicles are on standby, ready to provide free rides to stranded passengers. These vehicles are strategically distributed, one from the Regional Headquarters, 12 from the Albay Police Provincial Office, and one from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5. They will rove around key areas to ensure commuters reach their destinations without delay.

At present, no participating PUJ drivers have been reported joining the strike in the region. However, PRO5 remains vigilant and prepared to extend necessary assistance, closely monitoring the situation to ensure public safety and convenience.
