Suportado ng European Union (EU) ang ginawang hakbang ng Pamahalang Lokal ng Albay na idevelop ang renewable energy capacity ng lalawigan at gawin itong renewable energy hub sa mga susunod na taon.
Sa ginanap na dialogue sa pagitan ni Governor Atty. Edcel Greco A.B. Lagman at European Union Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Luc Véron sa pagbisita nito sa lalawigan, isa sa mga natalakay na usapin ang tungkol sa gagawing renewable energy investment summit sa Albay.
Ayon kay Véron, marami sa European countries ang interesado sa usapin ng renewable energy kung saan, ilan sa mga ito ang una nang nagpakita ng interes at nangako ng posibleng investment opportunities sa bansa.
“This is definitely something that will interest a lot of our investors. If you look at the statistics of the Central Bank of the Philippines in terms of the investment promises, you will see that this sector of renewable energy is definitely leading. And also the European Union countries is very interested in renewable for quite a while. Not so much geothermal which is one of the aspects of Albay of course, but when or so.. I know you’re interested in when, the production so they are in the turbines and definitely European Countries has a lot to offer, and there are already many promises, so when the conditions are right, I always say that,” bahagi ng pahayag ni Véron.
Kaugnay nito, inimbitahan naman ni Gobernador Lagman si Veron na bumisita sa lalawigan para sa nasabing summit na gagawin sa Agosto, ngayong taon kasama ang mga posibleng investors mula sa kanilang bansa.
