The Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) is set to revitalize coconut production in Albay through enhanced support and interventions for coconut farmers.

Under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Fund Act, the CFIDP aims to rehabilitate the coconut industry by equipping farmers with modern skills in coconut farming.

This initiative was made possible during the recent regional launch of CFIDP, where four farmers’ associations in Albay received farm equipment for intercropping coconut and cacao.

According to Provincial Agriculturist Cheryl O. Rebeta, the program, led by the Department of Agriculture, will boost coconut production and increase farmers’ incomes.

“May mga programs and projects sila dito na mare-revitalize ang ating coconut production para tumaas ang kanilang income at tumaas ang production,” said Rebeta.

The program’s launch was spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture Region V and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), in partnership with the Albay Provincial Agricultural Office (APAO).
