The IATF has disapproved the appeal of the City Government of Butuan for the extension of its city-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine status.
However, Executive Order No. 112 of the President is clear: “The mayor of cities and municipalities are likewise authorized to impose, lift, or extend ECQ in barangays, upon the concurrence of the regional counterpart body of the IATF.”
Butuan City’s ECQ extension in a number of barangays bears the imprimatur of the Regional Task Force for COVID-19 One Caraga Shield. Thus, the ECQ in the 50 barangays in Butuan City shall remain in force. (Butuan City PIO/RPN DXKS)
