Five Active Members Of Communist Movement Surrendered

Five active members of the communist movement, including a team leader and an entire family today, July 1 have surrendered to Butuan City Police Office to avail government assistance and benefits through the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

PCol Canilo A Fuentes, BCPO City Director, identified the former rebels as alias ‘Tabol’, with his wife, alias ‘Rosa’ and their son, alias ‘Leo Corilla’, alias ‘Queen’, a Supply Officer, and alias ‘Jiho’, an active Team Leader and Platoon Medic. The five were members of New People’s Army and Militia ng Bayan under Guerilla Front (GF) 4A, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).

Upon initial validation, the surrenderees, who yielded firearms: an improvised shotgun and four revolvers with live ammunition, were identified to be involved in conducting roadblocks, ambush operations, and burning of various heavy equipment around Agusan del Norte areas.
