Dr. Evelyn R. Fetalvero, CESO IV, erstwhile Regional Director of DepEd Region XI, formally took office as the new Regional Director of DepEd Caraga as RD Bringas took the helm at DepEd SOCCSKSARGEN, with DepEd Undersecretary for Field Operations Atty. Revsee A. Escobedo separately administering their virtual installations yesterday, February 5, 2021.
In his message during Fetalvero’s installation at 8:30 a.m., Usec. Escobedo praised Bringas for his achievements in Caraga. “My greatest appreciation for the leadership and fortitude of Director Francis Cesar Bringas who alongside his hard-working officers has guided DepEd Caraga region in these trying times. Your leadership has inspired all of us and we look forward to your future endeavors in the Department,” he said.
He added that a new chapter has begun in Caraga with the leadership of Dr. Fetalvero who “will not only inspire positive change in the field offices but will also strengthen the Department of Education’s core values and vision as guided by Dr. Bringas.” He stressed that this transfer “will continue the pursuit of excellence and honor of the Department’s agenda.”
Speaking from the Teacher Development Center in Butuan City, Bringas said that Fetalvero’s installation marked a historical homecoming of a Caraganon, a brave soul, who went to Davao Region to soar like an eagle. With her coming home, Bringas said, “the eagle has landed.” He then turned over to Fetalvero the literal keys to the regional office, as well as the complete documents of Caraga’s Regional Basic Education Plan (RBEP).
Fetalvero, speaking from her home base in Surigao del Norte exuded positivity saying, “I am the happiest person today, not just because I am back to my home region, but also because this new challenge excites me. Yes, in all these, I pray and give honor to God Almighty. I believe God brought me here. I may not know the full reasons yet, but I will discover them later as I journey with you.”
At 3:00 pm, it was Bringas’ turn to be installed as the new Regional Director of Region XII, again with Usec. Escobedo administering virtually. The activity was conducted via Google Meet and live-streamed at the official Facebook pages of both regions, with the SOCCSKSARGEN regional team setting up a well-prepared and elegant venue at their home base.
Dr. Allan G. Farnaso, CESO IV, former Regional Director of Region XII, turned over to Bringas the symbolic key of responsibility as well as the pertinent documented information of the region. Farnaso will move to Davao Region as its new Regional Director.
In his typically colorful language, Bringas said, “public service knows no limits. It even defies time and distance. That is my inspiration for accepting the assignment in Region 12. I am so happy that I am going to be in SOCCSKSARGEN.”
Speaking to his predecessor Farnaso, Bringas said, “The accomplishments that you presented are really a tough act to follow. It’s going to be a very big space of shoes to fill in. SOCCSKSARGEN is an excellent region… But I’m not going to do another act just because you are a tough act to follow.”
He added, “I would like to believe, that I’m coming to SOCCSKSARGEN as part of the orchestra, as part of the symphony that you have started. As part of the orchestra, you played an instrument. I will be coming to SOCCSKSARGEN playing another instrument, but we will be playing the same tune. I will be in synch with all the things that you have done. I will be playing the same tune as you have been playing because I believe that my predecessors in SOCCSKSARGEN have done a great job for the region.”
He stressed that he will work for the continuity of the programs so that the goals and mission of the region will come to fruition.
Bringas anticipated having a very happy stint in his new assignment. “I am going to see you soon. I hope that we will all be fond of each other and we will try our best so that we, together, can take care of all the DepEd people in DepEd SOCCSKSARGEN…please allow me to be part of your family. Please accept me for who I am. Please allow me to be myself.”
