A total of 1,000 women from the various cities and municipalities of Zamboanga del Norte attended the 2025 Provincial Womenβs Month Culmination Program spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) on March 26 this year, at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Sports Center.
The Guest of Honor, Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos, relayed in a message delivered on his behalf by Dapitan City Councilor Bing Balisado, emphasizes women are always the backbone of progress. They carry burdens without recognition, remain strong without support, and rise despite all obstacles, demonstrating endurance and determination even amid challenges and a lack of acknowledgment in life.
Mayor Bullet further conveyed that the strength of the women of Zamboanga del Norte is not only in their ability to endure but also in their power to bring about change.
After Councilor Balisado delivered the message, she led a dance offering dedicated to God which put all participants in their best mood.
Ms. Lenie Castaneda, Supervising Adminitrative Officer representing Acting Provincial Administrator Levy H. Lagutin Jr., also expresses the womenβs sector as a dearly valued sector by Governor Rosalina βNanay Neneβ Jalosjos, which is why all programs for women are always supported through the PSWDO. Ms. CastaΓ±eda further reminded the women that God has given them enough strength to overcome all the challenges in life, thus, they shouldn’t feel defeated and low when trials come.
Meanwhile, messages from local officials also add inspiration to the women with 2nd District Board Member Atty. Jasmin Pinsoy-Lagutin, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, and Family in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. She reassures them not to worry if God does not immediately grant their prayers, as it is His way of protecting them and giving them the best and most ideal. answer to their prayers.
Board Member Lagutin added that women are the βLight of the Homeβ, meaning that a mother is the guiding force of the family, providing guidance, love, and wisdom to her children, leading them on the right path.
During the celebration, the newly elected officials of the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial KALIPI also took their oath of office before former 2nd District Board Member Atty. Ricky Mejorada as the Administering Official for the Oath of Office.
In the afternoon program, Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos attended in person, where the selection for Ginang ZaNorte Runway Model and a modern dance competition took place.
It was noted that this yearβs Womenβs Month celebration carried the theme βBabae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinasβ, a celebration of all women in all sector highlighting their strength and diversity. (Angelica Obina)
