Dipolog: PG-ZDN holds 3rd Quarterly PCAT-VAWC Meeting

Provincial Committee on Anti – Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT – VAWC) holds its 3rd Quarter Meeting led by Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” G. Jalosjos, through the Acting Provincial Administrator Engr Rey C. Eguia, Engineer IV presided on October 11, 2024.

The meeting aims to provide updates on ongoing initiatives, projects and other concerns of the council. Additionally, the council works to ensure that the concerns are mainstreamed into local plans and policies of the provincial government.

Members of the Council and their representatives were briefed of PCAT – PCAT VAWC Executive Order followed by a presentation of quarterly reports submitted, presentation of the executive order on reconstitution of the Provincial Committee on Anti – Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (PCAT – VAWC) and the Inter – Agency Monitoring Team (IMT) of the Province of Zamboanga del Norte.

The secretariat explains as raised in the previous meeting the Reconstitution of the the (PCAT – VAWC) and the Inter – Agency Monitoring Team (IMT) of the Province of Zambonga del Norte is based on the Memorandum Circular No 2023 -181 dated November 17, 2023, known as the Guidelines on Operationalization of the Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT – VAWS) and expand their membership including ChildFund, OWWA, BDSKY, RRCY, DTI, DOLE, PNP and other partner agencies.

Provincial Administrator Engr Rey C. Eguia raised a motion on the creation of a Technical Working Group which then unanimously approved by the present members of the council. He further added that said TWG is important for a cohesive and coherent target indicator framework including existing sources of the budget.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) headed by Alex Z. Sabal OIC – Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office was the lead agency for the event. (Angelica T. Obina)
