A total of Php 54.502 million worth of livestock, machineries and equipment were turnover to farmer associations of Zamboanga del Norte during the simultaneous nationwide distribution of comprehensive government assistance by the Office of the President through the Department of Agriculture and Office of the Provincial Agriculturists on September 13, 2024.
Facilitated by the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte led by Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos thru the presence of the dynamic Provincial Administrator Wilberth G. Magallanes and Office of the President representative in the ceremonial turnover of livestock, machineries and equipment, Undersecretary Eric Ayapana of DPWH, farmer associations and beneficiaries were thankful to the government for the assistance and grants issued by the Department of Agriculture.
For the Rice Program, a total of P9, 340,000.00 (nine million three hundred ninety thousand pesos) was distributed among (1) Dipolog Communal System Agrarian Reform Service Providers (DCS-ARCSP), (2) Dansalang Makugihon Irrigators Association Inc., (3) Siay Farmer’s Association, (4) Tampilisan United Farmer’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative and (5) Don Jose Aguirre Farmers Association.
Meanwhile, for the Corn Program, a total of Php. 3,744,000.00 (three million seven hundred forty four thousand pesos) Mobile Recirculating Dryer was distributed to Polanco Progressive Corn Cluster Farmer Association. Under Livestock Program, a total of Php. 35,000,000.00 (thirty five million peso) LEED Equipment (Livestock Economic Enterprise Development) was distributed for (1) New Salvacion Farmer’s Association with beneficiary Patrick Jayson Jabay and (2) Tangarak Abaca Farmers Association with beneficiary Adelyn Rivera. While under Livestock program – Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE), the associations who received equipment are (1) Bayside Multipurpose Cooperative with Frelyn T. Hamac as beneficiary, (2) SVARBEMCO with beneficiary Jonathan Comamao and (3) FACOMA with beneficiary Edu Velasco.
Additionally, DA also distributes three (3) units of Four-Wheel Drive Tractor under the High Value Crop Development Program (HVCDP) with a total of Php. 4,470,000.00 (for million four hundred seventy thousand pesos) among the farmers’ association namely: (1) Siayan Pangkabuhayan Federation of Cooperative, (2) La Libertad Agricultural Producers Association and (3) liloy HVC Growers Cluster. Finally, under the organic program, a total of Php. 1,898,000.00 (one million eight hundred ninety eight thousand pesos) was also turned-over to Silano Piñan Farm Association with unit of Shallow Tube Well (STW) and One (1) Unit Four Wheel Drive Tractor.
The ceremonial turnover was also graced by Municipal Vice-Mayor of Siayan, Atty. Josecor Gepolongca and Municipal Mayor of Mutia, Hon. Lorrymir Adasa. (Angelica T. Obina)
