Despite Threats, TFZ – No Need For Additional Troops In Zamboanga

There is no more need for additional troops in the city although threats continue to persist, thus said Col. Antonio John Divinagracia, Commander Task Force Zamboanga.
The security defenses implemented by the military and police have prevented terrorist groups from committing atrocities in Zamboanga City, Divinagracia said.
“Our defenses are sustained, there is no need for additional troops, naka-template na kasi”, Divinagracia stressed.
The Task Force Zamboanga chief said, he is also coordinating with their counterparts in Sulu who are providing them intelligence information with regards to movements of the Abu Sayyaf.
He added his command is also harmonizing with the local police the security measures in the fight against criminality.
Divinagracia said checkpoints in strategic areas both in Districts 1 and 2 of the city have been bolstered to prevent the entry of Covid-19 and African Swine Fever (ASF).
“We support the DOH and City Veterinarian Office in their monitoring of these viruses also,” Divinagracia added.
