DavSur PLGU Provides Rescue Vehicles To 6 Barangays

Davao City – The local government of Davao del Sur has provided rescue vehicles to six (6) barangays from three municipalities in the province.

The barangay recipients are: Alegre, Buenavista, and Tubod of Bansalan town; Barayong and Blocon of Magsaysay; and New Katipunan of Matanao.

Christopher Tan, the provincial disaster risk reduction management officer, bared that the funding of the rescue vehicles which totaled to P3,498,600.00 came from the five per cent of the PDRRMO budget.

The vehicles were turned over to the officials of the barangay recipients during the provincial capitol’s Monday convocation program on May 31, 2021.

Punong Barangay Pablito Ladeza of Tubod in Bansalan, was thankful to Governor Douglas Cagas for providing them with the needed assistance, saying in the vernacular “this is very useful in responding to road accidents and in maintaining the peace and order in the barangay.”

“Dako kaayong ikatabang alang sa katawhan, labina na ang Barayong nga isa sa pinaka dakong barangay sa Magsaysay (This is a big help for our people, especially in Barayong which is one of the biggest barangays in Magsaysay),” Barayong Punong Barangay Exequiel Elentoria stated.

Also during the Monday convocation, Cagas handed over a check worth P300,000.00 to the Barangay Council of Ceboza, Matanao, as financial assistance from the provincial government.

The assistance is intended to purchase food and other necessities for the barangay frontliners and for the COVID-19 response activities of the barangay.
