Davao De Oro Awards 3 Best Mini-Kitchen

Davao de Oro — Out of 26 schools located in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) in Davao de Oro, 3 schools were hailed as top 3 Best Mini-kitchen.

School children’s well-being is directly proportionate with its academic performance at school.

Since 2016, the provincial-led feeding program “Bayanihan Para sa Kalusugan-Kusina Ng Kalinga” (BPSK-KNK) continues to alleviate hunger province-wide by providing free meals to malnourished children in public schools helping them to perform better and yield a better future.

The contest was initiated by PLGU-Davao de Oro together with the Department of Education, through the BPSK-KNK.

Three schools were awarded as top three among all the participating schools. Gumayan Elementary School ranked as top one with an average of 95%, Tagugpo Elementary School as 2nd placer and Paloc Elementary School as the 3rd placer.

Anitapan Elementary School of the municipality of Mabini also received a special award for being the first school to completely accomplish their Mini-Kitchen and provided school children with meals during school days.

Sanitation, over-all structure and safety of the establishments were the criteria used to determine the winners of the contest.

The awarding ceremony was held at the Provincial Capitol of Davao de Oro  and was attended by Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy, Schools Division Superintendent Eufemia Gamutin, PGSO Head Arceli Timogtimog, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Phoebe Gay Rifamonte and BPSK-KNK Coordinator Mark Tenio. (Jasteen P.
