Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City — Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 law enforcement operations led to the arrest of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member and the top 8 most wanted person, October 20.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., PRO13 Director, disclosed that Emilio A. Brillantes, 42 years old, resident of P6, Brgy. Poblacion, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, and an identified NPA in the barrio under Guerilla Front 16A of North Central Mindanao Regional Committee was apprehended around 3:30 AM in Brgy. Poblacion, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte.
The operation was launched by Kitcharao Municipal Police Station, Agusan del Norte Provincial Special Operations Group and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company based on the Search Warrant issued by Hon. Judge Anthony P. Vitor, of the 3rd Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Jabonga-Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte for violation of RA No.10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Police confiscated one hand grenade, an empty magazine of M14 rifle, and several rounds of ammunition of different caliber of firearms.
Meanwhile, personnel of Malimono Municipal Police Station conducted manhunt operation that yielded to the apprehension of Edwin C. Laurenciana, 40 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Hanagdong, Malimono, Surigao del Norte around 8:45 AM.
The law enforcement operation took place in Brgy. Cansayong, Malimono town, Surigao del Norte by virtue of alias warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Judge Rufo U. Naragas, Branch 29, Regional Trial Court with ₱ 180,000 bail bond.
Laurenciana, charged with Carnapping, was listed as Top 8 Most Wanted Person (Municipal level) in the municipality of Malimono, Surigao del Norte.
“The police force has stepped up the conduct of law enforcement operations regionwide especially in going after those who have pending warrant of arrest and those engage in illegal activities. We will never falter in our quest of ensuring peace and order for all Caraganons,” PBGEN CARAMAT, JR disclosed.
