Cordillera Cops Net 4 Drug Suspects

The sustained drive against illegal drugs resulted in the arrest of 2 High-Value Individuals (HVI) and 2 Street Level Individuals (SLI) in Benguet and Kalinga provinces on Monday, July 1, 2020.

Benguet Police and intelligence operatives of PROCOR served the search warrant, in the residence of Fritz Gerald Ricona Villena a High-Value Individual (HVI) at Alapang Proper, La Trinidad, Benguet

Seized during the search were 3 heat-sealed transparent sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with a total estimated weight of 1.4 grams, having a Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of Php9,520.00 and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Villena was arrested for possession of illegal drug.

In another operation, Kalinga Police and Intelligence operatives of PROCOR arrested other three illegal drug carriers, one of whom is Sixto Wacnang Ayong Jr., aka Jun Jun a HVI, seized from his possession were 2 medium-sized transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing more or less 10 grams with an estimated DDB value of more or less Php70,000.00; 1 bundle empty transparent plastic sachet; 1 bundle money transaction receipts; and 1 laminated photocopy of OR/CR,

The other suspects, Vennie A. Natividad a (SLI) was in possession of 1 transparent heat-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing more or less 5 grams with estimated DDB value of Php35,000.00 and 1 weighing scale; and Wakar Bayawoc Langngag, another SLI, seized from him were 5 transparent heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing more or less 1 gram with an estimated street value of Php 6,000.00 and 6 small plastic transparent sachets with residue.

They were all arrested in Barangay Lacnog, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The onsite inventory was witnessed by the arrested suspects and representatives from the media, DOJ, and Barangay officials thereat.

They are now facing charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“we will continue to hunt down illegal drug syndicates operating in the region and we are happy that we are able to arrest these personalities to somehow stop the proliferation of drugs in the streets of Benguet and Kalinga.” Regional Director PROCOR, PBGen Rwin Sta Ana Pagkalinawan said.
