The Batang Surigaonon Triathlon 2023, organized by the City Government of Surigao through the City Tourism Office, City Sports Council, and the Surigao Cycling Club, concluded with remarkable success earlier today. The event, which took place on October 22, 2023, saw a tremendous turnout of participants, including elite athletes and the City Mayor, Paul Dumlao, who added to the excitement of the day.
The triathlon featured various categories, including the challenging Olympic Distance, consisting of a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike ride, and a 10 km run. The full road closure ensured safety and a smooth race day for all involved.
Athletes of all ages and backgrounds came together to compete in the spirit of sportsmanship and determination. With over 200 triathlete participants, the competition was fierce, making for an action-packed and exhilarating event.
