Cagdianao Mining Corporation won first place in the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Caraga Region Commercial Making Contest during the culmination program of the 2021 Environmental Month Celebration, anchored on the theme: “Sama-samang Pagkilos, Sama-samang Paghilom: Ikaw, Ako, Tayo ang Kalikasan!”.
CMC regularly provides high-impact livelihood support to the fishermen in the host and neighboring communities, one of which is the Bangus Farming project. Currently, at least 159 fisherfolks are being supported by CMC through its Social Development and Management Program. These associations include the Bayanihan Nickel Ore Fisherfolks Association (BANFA), Nickel Ore Legaspi Fisherfolks Association (NOLFA) and Valencia Regular-Seasonal Workers Association (VARSWA).
Our winning product, “Isla Valencia,” is a bottled bangus manufactured by the women’s association the Gaas Dinagat Women’s Association, Kabuhayan ng Kababayenhan sa Bal-iwan, Cabiton-an Dainty Foods assisted by the CMC-SDMP.
