Clarifications on the Requirement of Travel Pass if a person wants to travel from one city/municipality to another but within the Province of Surigao del Norte.
Executive Order No. 20-018, s. of 2020 which was originally issued by Gov. Francisco T. Matugas on 30 May 2020 did not require the issuance of Travel Pass for travels within this Province (from one city/municipality to another).
However, during the meeting this morning (01 June 2020 at 9:00AM to 12:00NN) with the Mayors of Surigao del Norte, and as suggested by the President of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines – Surigao del Norte Chapter, it was agreed that Travel Pass should still be required for travels within the Province (from one city/municipality to another) in order to ensure strict compliance of our constituents on minimum health protocols to effectively prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.
This is especially so that our Provincial Borders are now being opened to our beloved Returning Surigaonons as well as tourists who are coming from places outside this Province.
This amendment has been reflected on EO No. 20-018-A s. 2020 issued by Gov. Lalo in the afternoon of 01 June 2020, and is more particularly illustrated below.
This amendment, which was being suggested by our Surigao del Norte Mayors, is simply to protect the lives of every Surigaonon from COVID-19, and not for any other reason. Gov. Lalo only considered the wisdom of our Honorable Mayors for the benefit of our people in these trying times. (HEALS 911 | RPN DXKS)
