CHO clears 24 PUMs in the city after 14-day self quarantine

The City Health Office (CHO) has cleared all 24 persons under monitoring (PUMs) who have showed no signs and symptoms of the Covid-19 for the past 14 days.

City Health Officer, Dr. Dulce Miravite claimed, all of the 24 PUMs have had a travel history to areas affected with Covid-19, particularly China, Hongkong and Macau.

All of the 24 PUMs were subjected to 14-day home quarantine and have showed no sign or symptom of Covid-19. “For this reason, Zamboanga City is still free from Covid-19”, she added.

The PUMs have all undergone the following protocols – identification, isolation, contact tracing and treatment if they are sick.

Miravite further claimed, should there be any of the PUMs manifested infections with Covid-19, she would recommend actions like locking down certain area of the city. However, with the mandatory 14-day quarantine, she said, there is no chance of getting into such situation.

She said, the city government is and was very vigilant, together with other agencies to keep the city free from Covid-19.

MIravite added, that there are still two PUMs who opted to stay in-house despite after the 14-day quarantine period.
