“I believe that food and healthcare go hand in hand. You can’t expect a child to learn or a worker to thrive if they’re hungry,” Gov. Baricuatro said during her keynote address at the Agri Konek Food Summit held at the Capitol. “That’s why, alongside health, food security is a top priority of this administration.”

“This advocacy is very close to my heart,” she said in a mix of English and Cebuano. “I was the executive director of Simply Share Foundation, whose mission is to combat hunger and promote food security. So ang kani nga adbokasiya, close gyod ni sa akong kasing-kasing.”
Gipangunahan ang summit sa Cebu Provincial Government, Department of Agriculture (DA), ug Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), diin nagtigom ang mga grupo sa mag-uuma, agripreneurs, ug mga stakeholders aron magtinabangay ug mapalapad ang ilang operasyon pinaagi sa product and service matching.
Nagtambong sa maong kalihukan sila DA Undersecretary Atty. Paz Benavidez II, DA Region 7 Director Angel Enriquez, ug CCCI President Jay Yuvallos. Apil usab sa virtual nga panagtambong si Senador Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, nga mitambag sa probinsya nga gamiton pag-ayo ang Republic Act No. 11321 o “Sagip Saka Act”, nga nagtugot sa diretso nga pagpalit og mga produkto gikan sa mga accredited nga farmers ug fisherfolk cooperatives.
