Be informed that at about 8:20AM of January 7, 2021, personnel of Sindangan Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by PSSg. Jessy Ray Adipen together with the PNP Maritime Group and Bantay Dagat conducted anti-illegal fishing in the coastal area of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.
As a result, the team were able to arrest Ruel Baguinat Tolarte, 47 years old, and Joseph Tura Masalta, 43 years old, both residents of Brgy. Doña Josefa, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte who were caught in the act slaughtering manta ray locally known as “PAGI” which is one of the endangered marine species.
Both suspects and the manta ray were brought to Sindangan MPS for further investigation and proper disposition.
