The City Health Office reminds parents to bring their children to be vaccinated against polio as the second round of bivalent oral police vaccination (bOPV) makes its way to the different barangays in the city.

City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite said the second round of th bOPV has started last Monday and will last to March 1, meant for children who are less than 10 years old.

“Our health workers are going from house to house”, thus call for the parents to submit their children for vaccination, Miravite explained.

Aside from house to house visits, the vaccination drive will also have fixed post in health centers, malls, and the city’s airport and seaport.

A total of 205,000 children are targeted to be immunized with this round of the bOPV.

Dr. Miravite stressed the importance of vaccinations against polio in light of continued emergence of police cases in the country.
