In its commitment to promote transparency and accountability, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), along with its 22 component local government units, achieved the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) standards and practices set by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

DILG–Ilocos Norte released its list of the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping passers, which included Adams, Bacarra, Badoc, Bangui, Banna, City of Batac, Burgos, Carasi, Currimao, Dingras, Dumalneg, Laoag City, Marcos, Nueva Era, Paoay, Pasuquin, Piddig, Pinili, San Nicolas, Sarrat, Solsona, and Vintar.

The GFH award is granted to LGUs that demonstrate adherence to accounting and auditing standards, as well as compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Commission on Audit.

Furthermore, it entails compliance with DILG’s Full Disclosure Policy, which mandates the posting of all requisite financial documents, as outlined in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2014-39.

Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc continues his dedication to demonstrating the province’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive development by implementing programs and initiatives that benefit the Ilokano community.

Last year, the Provincial Government and the same 22 towns were also honored with the 2022 GFH award.

PGIN was also a recipient of DILG’s 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance. (Mariell J. Pahinag)
