Baguio City posted today a total of 14 Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, which to date is the city’s highest number of virus afflictions recorded in a day.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said all cases were a result of expanded risk-based testing which the city has been conducting among the vulnerable sectors.

“Three patients were first assessed in the barangays and were swab tested because we issued an order advising  all residents with symptoms to notify the barangays.  The rest represent the various sectors whom we asked to be covered by the testing at 10 percent per sector,” the mayor said.

The total number includes the three patients reported earlier today — two males, aged 30 and 40 both from Lower Brookside and a 27-year old female from Balacbac, Sto. Tomas.

The additional patients are: a 27-year old female from Middle Quezon Hill; 23-year old female from Lopez Jaena, Aurora Hill; a 26-year old male from New Lucban; two females aged 68 and 31 from Bakakeng Central; 37-year old male from Engineers Hill; 61-year old male from SLU-SVP; 63-year old male from Sto. Tomas Central; 51-year old female from Trancoville; 42-year old female from Asin barangay and 35-year old female from MRR Queen of Peace. – APR/PIO Baguio
