Bacolod: Local history publications acknowledged by SP

Bacolod City – A resolution acknowledging several local publications as narratives of the history and culture of Bacolod City, was approved by Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod recently.

Authored by Councilor Israel Salanga and co-authored by Councilor Em Ang, the resolution said books and publications, which contain thorough and factual narrative of Bacolod City’s history and culture, need to be preserved as part of the local literature for the education and reference of its readers, which are the public in general.

The resolution acknowledged the following local publications as narrative of the history and culture of Bacolod City: “Bacolod in the Most Eventful Years: 1920-1945” by Rafael V. Guanzon; “Bakolod, Bacolod, The Golden Years” by Raymund T. Pandan, Jr. and Violeta Lopez-Gonzaga, Nalco Press, Bacolod City; “Bacolod City History Book 1 and 2, 1934-1945” by Modesto P. Sa-onoy, Copyright 2021; and “Sugar & Smiles, The Negrense Legacy Beyond 2020” by Regine M. Aspiras, Cecilia Concha-Colmenares, Marissa Montalvo-Corral, Raymond R. Fuentes, Dr. Ricardo L. Gallaga Jr., J. Albert Gamboa, Atty. Elias Gatanela Jr., Patricia Nicole Golez, Carla P. Gomez, Mia Lizares-Gonzaga, Roque P. Hofileña Jr., Imogene S. Kana-an, Ignacio Teodoro G. Locsin, Ma. Teresa Quebrar-Manalili, Christine Masinares, Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., Dr. Ma. Cecilia Locsin-Nava, Checks Osmeña-Orbida, Atty. Raymundo Pandan Jr., Dr. Ma. Lina P. Sanogal, Modesto P.
