Bacolod City gears up for MassKara 2024

Bacolod City – The members of the Inter-agency Committee, is determined to ensure that this year’s Masskara Festival celebration will be more spectacular, more exciting, colorful, and vibrant, providing a memorable experience to visitors, tourists and long-time festival-goers.

In a meeting with members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod recently, preparations for the October 11 to 27 event were discussed. This include the deployment of security personnel for public safety and security, food inspection, waste collection, and traffic.

Councilor Jason Villarosa, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Tourism, expressed his full support for the most awaited MassKara Festival, as he emphasized their shared commitment in maintaining the festival’s world-renowned reputation for lively entertainment, colorful displays, and community spirit.

At the meeting were city councilors Thaddy Sayson, Em Ang, Israel Salanga and other council representatives.

Also present during the event were representatives from the City Planning Office, Bacolod City Police Office, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office, DRRMO, Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Public Information Office, City Tourism Office, and City Health Office.

A series of inter-agency meetings are expected to be held in the coming weeks.

Kuster Cadagat, Secretary and Festival Director for Cultural and Accredited Events, asserts that it will be a more vibrant, fun and global MassKara this year.

According to Katherine Matiling, President and Festival Director for Finance, Admin, Concerts, Events and Fair, more than 30 artists and performers, along with celebrities, are joining this year’s celebration.

“Even visitors from Cebu and other cities are inquiring about the schedules, so we asked already the police to prepare for this bigger and better MassKara.”

The festival is scheduled to run from October 11 to October 27, with events taking place at four festival sites, including the Bacolod City Public Plaza, Bacolod City Government Center, Lacson Strip, and Megaworld’s The Upper East.

Some of the events are MassKanamit, MassKara Music Festival, The Electric Float Parade, The ElekTROIKA Diva MassKara Lympics, Miss Bacolod, MassKarade Ball, and the Street Dance and Arena Competition.
