Almost 138K Vaccinated In Zambo Peninsula: DOH

Zamboanga City – The Department of Health in Zamboanga Peninsula (DOH-9) announced Tuesday that 137,879 individuals have been inoculated in the region since the start of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination drive in March.

Data from the DOH-9 as of May 29 showed that out of the figure, 107,859 received their first dose while the remaining 30,020 got their second dose.

Out of those who got their first dose, 46,064 are under the A1 (medical front-liners) priority group, 30,164 are under A2 (senior citizens), and the remaining 31,631 are under A3 (persons with comorbidities).

The DOH-9 data showed that of the 30,020 who got their second dose, 26,855 are from the A1 priority group, 2,705 belong to A2, and 460 under A3.

The region has a total eligible population of 391,363 for vaccination as of May 29.

Of the total, 56,060 belong to the A1 priority group, 242,380 are under A2, and 92,923 are under A3.

Meanwhile, the DOH-9 has received a total of 194,200 doses of vaccines consisting of 131,400 Sinovac and 62,800 AstraZeneca jabs.

Dr. Manolo Alpichi, DOH-9 assistant director, said the latest vaccine shipment they received on Monday contained 2,000 Sinovac doses.

Alpichi reiterated his call to the public to register and avail of the government’s vaccination program.

The DOH-9 covers the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur as well as Isabela City in Basilan and this city to include the Sulu Central Sanitarium, which is a DOH-retained hospital.  (Teofilo Garcia, Jr., Philippine News Agency,. photo courtesy of DOH Zamboanga Peninsula CHD)
