7 nabbed in series of drug busts in Bacolod City

Seven persons were arrested while PHP289,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a series of buy-busts conducted by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) between Sunday and Tuesday.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Ariel Tan Julian, 44, and Ariel Famador Julian, 20, were apprehended by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in a residence at Hillside Subdivision in Barangay Mansilingan.

The suspects sold a sachet of shabu worth PHP500 to an undercover policeman and yielded one big and nine small elongated sachets of the prohibited substance weighing seven grams valued at PHP63,000.

On Monday night, Alex Tornilla was caught selling shabu worth PHP200 during the operation conducted by personnel of Police Station 3 in Purok Kitahanun, Barangay Banago.

Tornilla, a street-level drug peddler, also yielded three sachets of the same substance worth PHP20,000 when arrested around 10:05 p.m.

An hour earlier, operatives of Police Station 5 arrested Jessie de la Cruz, who sold PHP200 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer at Zone 2, Abada-Escay in Barangay Vista Alegre.

The 47-year-old suspect was also found possessing eight sachets of shabu with an estimated value of PHP55,000.

Also around 9 p.m., high-value individual Joey Bitongga was arrested at Purok Saturn, Phase 6B in Barangay Handumanan by operatives of Police Station 10.

Bitongga, 21, sold PHP200 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer and yielded three small sachets containing the same substance with an estimated street value of PHP8,000.

At around 7:30 p.m., Ricky Solomon, 36, was apprehended in Purok Malipayon, Barangay 35 by personnel of Police Station 1.

Seized from Solomon, a street-level individual, were six small sachets of shabu worth PHP15,000 after he sold a sachet of the prohibited substance for PHP300 to a poseur-buyer.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Michael Mercado, 34, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.

Mercado, also a street-level individual, sold PHP500 in shabu and yielded 10 sachets of the same substance weighing 16 grams valued at PHP128,000. (Nanette Guadalquiver ndb via pna)
