64IB’s Battalion Retraining, Kicks-Off

Zamboanga City – A simple program was held at the Headquarters of 64th Infantry (Knights) Battalion to formally open its Battalion Retraining, Saturday, June 05, 2021.

The program was graced by B/Gen Domingo B. Gobway PA, Commander 101st Infantry (Three Red Arrows) Brigade as Keynote Speaker. It was also attended by Col Jonathan P. Obena, GSC (INF) PA, Commandant, 1st Division Training School, who has the primarily responsibility to provide the battalion with a systematic and quality training that refreshes the knowledges and capability of the Officers and Enlisted Personnel particularly on combat operations.

The Battalion Retraining Program increases the operational readiness and capability of an Infantry Battalion at all levels of command and prepare them for rapid deployment mission and defeat the enemy forces in any intensity level of conflict.

“Today we are marking another milestone for the officers, men and women of 64th Infantry (Knights) Battalion. The training is on-site in order to lessen the utilization of resources, movement at the same time hindi maputol ang ating momentum lalong-lalo na dito sa campaign against ASG sa area of operations ng Joint Task Force Basilan.” – said Maj Cruzado, Deputy G8 of 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division

“Our task is the overall supervision of this training, ensure that the training policies set forth by the higher headquarters are being implemented and the training standard will be strictly observed and followed.”- he added

“The Battalion retraining program of the Philippine Army is designed to all Infantry Battalions every after 6 years to maintain its operational readiness. As your Operational Commander, I am expecting you to sustain your gains here in your area of operations.” Brig. Gen. Gobway said

“Even you are in a retraining status, we must maintain our momentum in our pursuit towards neutralization of the remaining members of Abu-Sayaff Group.” he added.
