The Archdiocese of Zamboanga have conducted the crowning of the blessed mother, Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar Monday evening at the Fort Pilar.
This is in line with the 60th anniversary, canonical coronation of La Virgen Del Pilar.
Most Reverend Moises M. Cuevas, Auxiliary Bishop of Zamboanga City celebrated the pontifical mass followed by the canonical coronation of the La Virgen Del Pilar.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco Salazar brought the crown of the blessed mother to the altar, it was blessed by the priests, then Cuevas went up to crown the blessed mother.
This was witnessed by several priest led by Archbishop of Zamboanga, Most Reverend Romulo Dela Cruz, local government officials, and devotees numbering to 500.
Cuevas reminded the people about obedience just like how Mary obeyed God. Aside from these to think what will Zamboanga be without the Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar.
The celebration of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival is in honor of the city’s patron saint Nuestra Señora La Virgen del Pilar. It is also the biggest fiesta and being celebrated in the entire Zamboanga City.
