Bacolod City – Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said 50 capitol employees and their families infected with coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 are now at the Mambukal Mountain Resort quarantine facility in Murcia town.

Majority of them are assigned to the Provincial Environment and Management Office, Diaz said

Diaz also said these employees were infected in their homes, not in their workplaces.

“Most are from Bacolod City,” he added.

Meanwhile, Diaz said the vaccination program at Barangay Kapitolyo was a success as many Capitol employees availed of the free inoculation.

The Provincial Health Office report showed that 931 Capitol employees were vaccinated, excluding those from the Philippine Army; Departments of Education, and Interior and Local Government; and other government agencies.

Capitol employees who have yet to be vaccinated were instructed to sign a waiver to establish that they are refusing to be inoculated, despite the availability of the vaccines.

Those who will change their mind and want to get vaccinated may signify their intention and the brand of vaccine they would like to avail.

But Diaz pointed out that they will have to wait as vaccinators will first attend to those ahead in the list.

The provincial government is targeting to vaccinate 70 percent of its employees.
