PLTGEN JOSE CHIQUITO M. MALAYO stresses out the invaluable role of the public in preventing the occurrence of atrocities in the different localities in Western Mindanao.
Being the former commander of Area Police Command, Western Mindanao, the current Deputy Chief PNP for Administration articulated in an interview, that nothing can beat the collaborative partnership between the PNP and the locals. Reason why, they are also consistently working on the aspect of Police-Community Relations.
On one hand, PLTGEN. Malayo said that, “Terroristic attracts had been the biggest challenge in Western Mindanao ever since.”
However, according to him, the authorities are on top of the situation and are able to immediately identify the threat and thwart the plan of the unlawful personalities and groups in the areas of Western Mindanao and other parts of the country.
On the other hand, accomplishment reports on the surrender of ASG members, apprehension of bandits and top most wanted persons (on the local, regional and national level) are all because of the series of counterterrorism approaches, that are being executed by the different units of the Philippine National Police; in coordination with other security forces/agencies. Some of which are PNP’s consistent monitoring, target hardening and acquisition of radicalization reports through their operatives on the ground.
Furthermore, PLTGEN MALAYO reiterated that the participation of the civilians are vital in preventing untoward events, reducing the number of lawbreakers and addressing all forms of lawlessness in general. Reason why the Deputy Chief PNP for Administration, PLTGEN JOSE CHIQUITO M MALAYO, encourages the people to be vigilant and support them in their advocacies. According to him, the programs of the Philippine National Police under the leadership of PNP CHIEF, PGEN RODOLFO AZURIN JR. are anchored in the M2K=K or MKK=K (Malasakit+Kaayusan+Kapayapaan=Kaunlaran).
