Zamboanga: Joint law enforcement operations seized 6.8M worth of shabu in Tawi-Tawi

Zamboanga City – Marine Battalion Landing Team–12 of Naval Task Group Tawi-Tawi together with PDEA BARMM Tawi-Tawi, TOG SULTAW, Coastguard Station Central Tawi-Tawi and intelligence operatives of various security units undertook a Joint Law Enforcement Operations (JLEO) that led to the successful seizure of illegal drugs in the vicinity of the seas off Bongao, Tawi-Tawi in the afternoon of August 9, 2022.

According to NFWM PAO, the joint operations resulted to the seizure of shabu worth an estimated market value of 6.8 Million, one (1) pc white box, one (1) pc violet eco bag, one (1) pc transparent plastic cellophane, and 10 bundles of photocopied one thousand peso bills used for the operation. The operation also resulted to the apprehension of two personalities identified as Nurhamin NURUSSIN and Hosna Nurussin RAHIM.

The arrested individuals and confiscated items were turned over to PDEA BARMM for appropriate disposition and the filing of criminal charges for violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as “The comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

“Your Fleet-Marine forces, together with other law enforcement agencies, are always ready to implement our government’s campaign against illegal drugs in line with our advocacy to promote peace and order in island communities to ensure a better future for our Tawi-Tawi youth,” said BGen Romeo T Racadio PN(M), the Commander of NTG Tawi-Tawi.
