On Wednesday, January 26, the City Government team in charge of the seaport border control initiated random rapid antigen testing for passengers that arrived on board the 2GO vessel from Manila – Dumaguete.

The vessel had a total of 304 passengers – 91 from Zamboanga City; 3 from Basilan; 30 from Jolo, Sulu; 11 from Zamboanga del Norte; 4 from Zamboanga Sibugay; 1 each from Zamboanga del Sur and Cotabato and 163 Badjaos from Jolo.

55 of the passengers were subjected to random rapid antigen tests and all turned out negative of the virus. One passenger however, who had a positive RT-PCR test result and erroneously allowed to board the ship, was sent to the Mega Isolation Facility in Talisayan.

The seaport border control team is composed of personnel from the City Health Office, City Tourism Office, CDRRMO and other national agencies.
